You look around at your step-sister, sleeping peacefully in the other chair. You've always rather liked Charlotte but right now all you can think about is what would get at Evelyn the most. And cutting her hair is one thing, but cutting Charlottes would really send her over the edge.
'All right,' you say. 'One foot of hair. But on one condition.'
'What?' the boy asks, obviously dreading the reply.
'You have to do the same to Charlotte.' He looks at her sleeping figure, her long never-before-cut hair lying draped around her. 'It's one or the other,' you tell him. He thinks for a bit longer. 'Okay,' he says. 'I'll do it.' You grin sadistically. You have them all at your mercy - the boy wrapped around your finger and Charlotte and Evelyn completely unaware of what's happening. It's a wickedly exhilarating feeling.
