At least you got the new swimsuit. Could be worse, I suppose.
As soon as you leave the building, you look around for someplace to hide. There's an entrance to a Christmas tree farm a couple hundred feet away. You decide to hide there until dark. That's still a long way off, but at least it's still reasonably warm this time of year.
Eventually, you fall asleep in the safety of the quasi-forest.
When you awake, it's dusk and you're just about ready to head home. You run a few scenarios through your head, trying to come up with them best path. The path least likely for you to be spotted. There are two good choices.
The short way. A mad dash through a couple back alleys and through a fairly empty part of town.
The long way. Stick to the shadows. Avoid every place you can imagine seeing a person.
