Go to Scotland Yard; no use being here any longer than you have to.
From Create Your Own Story
You take the taxi all the way to Scotland Yard, peering out the windows as you rattle through the streets. Everywhere you look you see the failings of modern society; beggars clog the roads, women sell their bodies to pay for food and rent, dogs are eaten like cattle in old abandoned buildings, and yet new buildings and fancy apartments still spring up like magic out of the sewage, their stone faces only just now starting to show the putrid grime of London. A dark part of you smiles as you see a man getting mugged only a few feet from Scotland Yard's main gates; an ultimate irony in the face of such supposed power.
You show your credentials at the gate and are let in by a fresh faced recruit. A few minutes later you are greeted by Captain Freeguard, pompous and chatty in his freshly pressed uniform.
"Lady Van Helsing." He greets with his clipped enunciated voice. "I expected you sooner."
"You should be so lucky to expect me at all..." You say back, your eyes darkening at his obvious jab. "But what kind of humanitarian would I be if I didn't stoop to help those so desperately in need as the men of Scotland Yard?"
He bristles but knows he can't win. Captain Freeguard hates magic. He states the trouble it brings, the chaos it inflicts, and the corruption it seats in the hearts of men but you secretly suspect it's because its the one thing he can't seem to control.
"Lets get on with it then..." he says, biting back his nasty tone only so much. "I don't even think the great Van Helsing will have the answers to our latest lethal riddle..."
