You are a Canadian man in your late thirties. It is the year of 2125. You've been stationed on a large wall on the border between America and Canada. You don't know why you were recruited for this, but you make good pay. You sometimes see trees in the distance shake as if something large is moving about in the forests. You sometimes hear the calls of birds but not like any you've heard before. It's winter now and you haven't seen anything strange recently. You are hungry as food supplies have not come in for a while now. Morale is still high though and you hear other men stationed with you laughing from within one of the rooms atop the wall. Warmth and light emanates from the gathering.
