You take the pet carefully back to the village square and find the boy.
"Here you go," you say with a smile on your face.
"Oh thank you!" the little boy says. He takes his pet and hugs it tightly, making you feel oh so guilty about not just setting it free.
You stand there and clear your throat, holding your hand out.
"Oh yeah! The reward!" the child pulls a fancy dagger out of his pocket. "You can have it. I don't need it since I have my fluffy-wuffy pet here now!" he announces cheerfully.
You thank him and begin walking off.
