Feeling sympathy for your friend you pull him in for a hug. This shouldn't be your responsibility, but you can't help but be the closest person to family to him at this point. He cries for a good while, rambling and mumbling incoherently through his tears. Eventually, he calms down enough to take a breath, he whispers the first coherent thing you've heard him say for the past hour.
