Give Lana a reassuring hug and tell her you'll make sure she stays safe

You give Lana a gentle hug. "I'll keep you safe."
She smiles. "By being a human shield?"
"By being a good negotiator."
The two of you step out of the elevator and hasten over to the bank. The security guards and the robbers are kind of busy, and the cops are just arriving, so you elect to interview some of the ordinary patrons who got caught at the scene.
You get some good quotes, and a few minutes later, the robbers have succeeded in making yet another escape. You go over to the police station and listen to the spokesman for the cops explain why, yet again, they haven't caught the gang.
Since you can't exactly get a statement from the robbers, you feel your investigative work is done for the day. You and Lana return to the Daily Planet and type up your stories.
The next day, Perry gets a phone call. Two minutes later, he calls in you and Lana to his office.
"A spokesman for the robbers wants to know if you two want to get their side of things. You can show up at the statue of the General in the park at noon and they'll provide transport to their hideout."
Lana looks at you, waiting for you to make a decision.
