You decide to get some work done first. It is your first day at a new job, after all.

Remembering the many months of failed job interviews and frustrating unemployment, you're desperate to keep this job and do well at it, maybe even get a raise in a few months. You throw yourself into your work, trying to learn all your responsibilities to the letter. You lose track of time, really getting into the zone. When you hear a voice asking you a question, you respond without thinking, "I'm trying to concentrate on something, okay?"

"Well, that's not a very nice way to talk to your new boss."

You sit up straight and freeze in horror. You've just told off Annabelle! Not just your supervisor, but the woman you were trying to lose your virginity to! You do a facepalm.

"I'm in a good mood today, so I'll forgive you," she says. "But be more careful next time. And remember, I can forgive, but I won't forget."

You nod submissively. "I'm sorry, Miss Annabelle."

From that point on, although Annabelle is polite, she is cold and distant. You soon realize that you can't even get into her friendzone, much less lose your virginity to her. When you finally admit your epic fail to yourself, you do a double facepalm.
