Megan killed Vanessa.
That's what happened yesterday. It was all over the damn news this morning.
Jesus christ, what happened? She was Megan's best friend. Why would she just suddenly snap and kill her?
And now, Megan's just... disappeared. When the police searched her house, she wasn't there. That's what makes this whole thing even crazier. That's what is so weird about it. It scares me, actually. Even though Megan was always a bit... different, which is what I think caused her to be an outcast, she still can't have just decided to up and kill her, could she? I know that everybody will be talking about it today at school, so I'll make sure I pay attention to the chatter in the halls...
No facts, just rumors. Someone said Megan killed Vanessa with a baseball bat, but someone else told me that it was with a pair of scissors. I also heard that she did it with her bare hands. Most disturbing of all, though, I heard a girl telling her friends it was with power tools. And then there was the thing I heard from more than one person, that she supposedly recorded a big "F-U" video for everyone.
Aside from all of that, though, Jace walked me home again. We were worried it was gonna rain, what with the clouds being that heavier, darker gray. I don't remember the weather forecast calling for rain, but it was kinda overcast yesterday anyways...
Final addition for the day, right before I go to sleep.
There was a field trip for the high school today. Buncha kids going down to the city caves. Thing is, a late return was expected. The caves are kinda out there and they needed some time to do what they needed to. However, they didn't seem to come back. It's 11 PM right now, and there's still no sign of them. Local news said that the police would be sending someone down to check on them as soon as they could, but they're already fearing a collapse. If that's the case, they said it could be a day or more before everyone got out. The local myths regarding what lies beneath the surface in that area are endless when those caves come up.
God, I hope they're just myths. I hope everyone's okay. Last thing this town needs is more kids getting killed.
