“As an ex-senator and a princess, did you ever made a decision you were sure was the right one, but still regretted it afterwards?” You ask. She looks at you, at least you got her listening.
“That is the curse of commandement. It happens to every leader.” She answers vaguely.
“But still, there is a reason you made the decision in the first place, a moment where you said that it was worth it.” You continue.
“So?” She asks.
“I don’t know what did I gain from dealing with Vader. I thought the deal at least saved you and that good old Chewie from his claws, but he changed the deal and asked that I hand you both to him. Then I thought I did it for my people, but even then the Empire took that away from me.” You explain. Leia stands up to face you.
“Vader was here for Skywalker, and only Skywalker. It was hard playing the Empire’s game, but giving up a guy you never met for the safety of Han, you, the crew and the rest of my colony was something I had to do. But in the end, I got nothing, I was fleeced of everything. I don’t want your pity, I don’t deserve it, but I at least wanted you to know that.” You say.
“You can still make things right, fight for the Rebellion and help us destroy the Empire.” Leia says.
“The Rebellion hasn’t lost anything in this deal, but everyone on this ship did. I don’t want to make it right for the Rebellion, I want to make it right for you, for all of us.” You answer.
You see tears forming in Leia’s eyes, she clearly lost someone important in Han. You want to make her feel better but you always were a scoundrel and a charmer, not a shoulder to sincerely cry on.
