Distant drums

You make your way through the dense foliage until you reach a small stream, where you gratefully drink your fill. Walking in the jungle is hard work! Then you follow the stream in the direction of those drums.
Before long, you spot three figures in the river. Some distance behind them, the stream exits a wooden palisade, and you can see the roofs of several primitive huts behind it.
As you come closer, the figures are revealed to be dark-skinned, short but plump human women; wearing only colorful ornaments and a thick belt with long fringes. They busy themselves washing pieces of cloth, and you can see their wide rumps and heavy breasts clearly. They are singing and smiling.
As you try to decide what to do, a procession of sorts is taking place. Out of the jungle comes several hulking hairy brutes whooping and hollering that you need several seconds to identify as males - they're more apes than men! Two of them carry a log between them, and something fair-skinned is tied to that log. A white woman, wearing only a pith helmet!
The three women takes little notice. In fact, they hardly look up from their washing.
