Day 10, Evening Encounter (Teaming up with ???) - SAO:LW

It took a long time for the world to hit the evening, or so you thought. The only thing you did in the meantime was to sit on the ledge of the fountain the middle of the center of Tolbana, luring at cute girls coming by. You have seen plenty of beautiful faces and figures, but approaching those in the middle of the public would be the most awkward thing to do. If you could gain quite the fame and be popular among the many professional swordfighters, gaining the hearts of many beautiful girls would be a cakewalk. Gaining the heart of Seven wasn't that difficult, but you doubt it'll be that easy with every girl. Despite it being a very long afternoon, you could easily say it was worth staring at pretty much everyone. You just hope nobody really noticed what you were doing, otherwise your fame would be in vain.
After you bought some food from a local merchant for 30 Col, you decide to hit the alleyways in order to find some girls who could be of interest for you. It came as a surprise to you to discover that there were no people at all to be found. What you did find however, was the same girl who asked to party up with you for the next day. She is sitting on a comfy wooden bench, still having her red cloth equipped. Since she seems quite lonely, you decide to ask her if you could sit down with her. She agrees, and you take your time to sit next to her. Since you had no idea what to say to her, you sat there for a little moment quite awkwardly. You know yourself that you have to stop feeling awkward at times like these. Gaining girls their hearts won't happen if you can't manage to talk to them. You take a deep breath, and you man up.
You: I bought some food from a merchant a few minutes ago. Do you want a piece of fresh bread?
The girl looks at you with a surprise. She didn't expect you to so anything out of fear. Or maybe rather because she didn't expect you to have any interest in her since she could be considered odd by a lot of people. But that doesn't mean she's gonna pass.
???: Yeah sure. I'm quite hungry actually.
She takes your bread and eats it slowly. She really seems to enjoy the bread. It just looks like she hasn't eaten anything with such a good taste in a long time. Like she hasn't eaten anything at all since her arrival in SAO.
- ???: This is really good. Where did you find this?
- You: From an NPC with a green booth in the middle of Tolbana. You should give it a go sometime!
You're surprised that you couldn't notice before, but it seems that you can't see the girl's name above her head. She probably has it disabled in Privacy settings, and for good reasons. This world could be full of creeps hitting on women with nice names.
???: It's funny actually. I recently used a razor to prevent my beard from growing any further. Seems like you're in need for a razor since you're called Razore!
You are absolutely speechless. You don't know if you are due to her mentioning beard growth or the fact that she made a pun out of your name.
- ???: I'm just kidding! About the beard growth and making fun of your name. It looks pretty cool actually.
- You: Hahah, you're the first one to tell me a joke in this world actually. Thanks for that! Also, now that you know my name, may I know yours?
She seems to consider her options. After three seconds, she seems to tell you without hesitation. She also removes her cowl, which reveals her entire face.
???: I'm Asuna. Nice to meet you!
You really did not expect her to look like this. You rather would have expected a very pale looking girl who would be the complete opposite of social and caring. But this changes your entire view on this girl, or rather, Asuna. She has orange eyes and has long orange hair. You don't know her age yet, but you're pretty sure she is 18+. She even looks older than you. With Asuna's cowl gone, the two of you were much more comfortable talking to one another.
- Asuna: I'm sorry for acting so shy earlier. It's just that I'm afraid of the people in this world. Most of these people are perverts, who don't want to get in touch with society, except for online games. The reason for me having this cowl on is to avoid letting others see the real me, the girl who would be recognized as the one of who everyone would hit on, you know? I simply don't want people to think that. Most people in this game are way different than the people I socialized with, and it is disturbing. I'm glad you don't have that kind of mind of a person who would only want to talk to someone he could have a chance of romance with.
- You: Asuna..
- Asuna: The reason I asked you to party up with me tomorrow was not because you were able to find the Boss Room all by yourself or with that other gray haired girl. It was because I could sense the same dexterity we both possess, namely our way of communicating. It's clear to me that people such as Diavel or yourself share this kind of willpower, but I can say for sure that give or take 95% of the other people trapped in SAO are all the same: People who want to stay in the dark forever and want to isolate themselves for the rest of eternity.
- You: Asu-na....
- Asuna: And I know I seemed like that same kind of person, someone who wouldn't want contact with any other person. But knowing that you did not decline my offer today is what gave me hope. The hope that not all people in this world 'suck'. I wish there are more people like you in this game, you know. People I can express my feelings to for example. And for that, I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
This truly was a lot to take in. You truly are glad that Asuna feels this much potential for you. It's also sad to know that she has a bad perspective of all the other people in this game. You can't blame her, since what she says is right. A lot of people in this game are left in the dark, and the worst part is that they choose to be left in the dark as well. This will form a problem for future boss battles, since there will be a lack in people who participate in the Assault Team.
You: I can't express how glad I am to hear that you have so much faith in me, Asuna. Let's survive this world, together.
You look at Asuna, who apparently has tears in her eyes. Who would have thought that her story would make her this emotional. This means she really shows a lot of sympathy towards other people, and that she truly has a human spirit. You're glad to see that.
Asuna: Yes, let's survive this world, together.
She lays her head on your shoulder. It appears that she really feels comfy when she is near you. You can't express how happy you are to see that such a wonderful and beautiful girl like Asuna already feels this way towards you. The most appropriate response you could give in this situation, is to lay an arm around her waist. It surprises you to see that she even allows this. You and Asuna both don't really feel sexual desire, yet, but the way things look now already feel wonderful. You are curious to see how events will play out between the two of you in the future.
Sit like this next to her for a long time, until tomorrow
