Story
Daughter of a wealthy Greek aristocrat, member of one of the oldest noble families in Constantinople. Her family has a tradition of supplying great warriors to the Emperor, and Daria's four brothers all serve in the Imperial guard. Daria herself, though, is the most skilled warrior of them all, though her sex prevents her from serving in any official capacity. Disgusted by the corruption and weakness which cripple what little remains of the once vast Byzantine Empire, Daria honed her fighting skills at night on the bandit-rife streets of her city. When the city was recently besieged for the umpteenth time, she disguised herself and joined the fight on the city walls, repelling the invaders. A fierce but level-headed fighter, Daria is deadly with any sort of blade and agile and stealthy as a ninja. Her family for generations has been the custodian of an ancient secret that may save Constantinople in its darkest hour.
