Cut the blades with your sword

You draw your sword and start to chop, left and right, at the stems. But they don't cleave: quite the opposite. They wind together into thick ropes and start to wind around the blade of your sword. Before you know it they've almost pulled it from your grasp!
Desperately, you slice left and right. You manage to free the sword-blade enough to tug it free, and the grass moves away once more, moving as easily as ripples on the surface of a pond. That was a close thing. Without your sword, out here, you would be food for the first Ogre that came along.
