You decide to sweep a few more of the rooms. Maybe you can find something you can use at a distance.
There's nothing in the kitchen you can use, so you open one of the other doors. It leads to another sitting room. This one's decorated differently, though. A rotting leather armchair sits by a huge fireplace, and dark pictures adorn the walls. Above the fireplace hang two guns. You take one of them down. It's surprisingly heavy. Unfortunately, it's also rusty, and it has no bullets. The other one's in the same condition. As you're putting them back, a box on the mantle catches your attention.
It's made of polished wood and it's latched shut. You open it. Nestled in red silk is a silver revolver. A small box sits next to it. You open the smaller box. There are five shiny bullets inside. Their texture feels the same as the texture of your knife. They must be silver too. you think.
The gun has no safety, so you don't load it. Instead, you tuck it into your rather full belt, and you pocket the bullets.
