CYS: Find a weapon then head downstairs

The light coming from the window allows you to find your hunting knife. You test it to see if its sharp, then when satisfied that it is, you open your bedroom door. The hallway is silent, the only light coming from your door. Across from you is your office where your work stuff is, to your right is the bathroom, and to your left is the stairway down. It spirals in a 'elegant' fashion, preventing you from peeking down below. Your office door is shut, just the way you had left it. Your bathroom door was open, though you never close it so that could mean anything.
