Break off to collect the floating chest

You order the Midnight to slow down and move in on the floating chest. Within a few minutes, your men have hauled it up and broken it open.

It contains a small amount of gold and silver [which you order split evenly among the crew], some old love letters written by a woman, one "Maria", to a "Captain Raul", and a map with directions to what appears to be a part of a city. The directions are in a code you can't recognize.
