The Ratbear is startled by your approach, but drops quickly to all fours. You will not be intimidated by an overgrown rodent. You thrust your sword out in front of you, hoping the creature will run itself through. At the last moment, the Ratbear leaps, all claws off the ground and ready to plunge into your body! You brace yourself as it comes down. It takes you by surprise, and wide open. The vicious creature has wounded you and worse, it knows it.
For a moment you look off into the trees, considering escape. But the Ratbear can run faster than you. It hisses and spits, standing up onto its hind legs!
