Believe him, and ask him what to do?

From Create Your Own Story

"Wait." He says, and sure enough, after a few intense moments, a loud clanking of metal feet can be heardabove, moving away."I told you," the old man says. "Now lets move on." You step out the door into the cold night air, and it feels refreshing against your skin. The roof top is a gravely surface, and imprints can be seen of a tri-toed thing that stomped away. You're glad you didn't have to deal with it."This way," The old man says, gesturing for you to follow him. He approaches the edge of the building, where a few rickety looking boards are layed out, closing the gap between the two buildings. The old man climbs on top, and nimbly runs across, the borders creeking and groaning under his weight. There's no way that thing can hold your weight! You could try to gap the building, but that could be even more dangerous. Maybe you can persuade the old man to come back and the two of you will go the other way.
