Be proactive and get down below with the engineers trying to fix the boiler.

From Create Your Own Story

Giving Louise a final dirty look you storm past and head straight for the engine room. As part of your education you were trained to maintain and fix many kinds of machinery, you very well may be the most learned person on this boat on the subject. At first the crew gives you weird looks, unsure what to think of a beautiful European woman trying to help with a man's job, but soon you prove yourself to be more than useful at lending a hand.

Seven hours later the boiler is fixed and the boat moves once more, chugging away quietly as night falls. You walk up on deck, letting the night air cool your hot skin; red, sweaty and smudged with engine grease. Staring out across the water you pull something from your pocket, something you found in the boiler room that troubled you. It's a bent up brass dagger you found lodged in the flywheel casing, crude and mangled from the machinery and the cause of the malfunction. It's intricately worked though cheap with fine Arabic written on the blade and handle. Examining it you feel troubled; it didn't get there by accident, it was put there.

Sabotage.

For a brief moment you wonder if the snobby French actress had her Egyptian servant damage the engine so that she could enjoy her bath but you quickly dismiss of the idea...this seemed less flippant than the whims of a pampered celebrity. This has more sinister meaning you feel it in your heart...

Suddenly you hear a wet bumping noise against the side of the steamship, and you look down to see what it was. You see something dark in the water, hard to make out in the black of night. Something moving...

A small boat.

A face, covered in a bronze mask, looks up from a small sleek canoe, in his hand a long ugly dagger! Next to him another two bronze masked faces look up, like ghosts in the dark.

Your eyes widen. Bandits, or worse! In any case armed men boarding the steamship is bad news, you have to react!
