B&HB: Sneak out and go in his stead
From Create Your Own Story
"No!" you tell yourself. "I'm not going to let Papa go off to his death."
Your going to go and convince whoever this man is to let Father go. You'll return the rose, and settle the matter yourself.
You wait around patiently until midnight, when you're sure Father is asleep, and quietly sneak out of the house, with the rose in hand. You don't know if Father's instructions on how to find the castle will work, but you rush out of your town, and into the nearby forest. Here you close your eyes and try to picture the castle in your mind, and that you were there. As soon as you open them, standing before you is a massive and foreboding castle. It's covered in moss and ivy, yet somehow it's in perfect condition. As though it were a part of nature, instead of built around it.
The front gate opens the moment you approach, just as Father had told you, and you step through. The path leading up to the front doors is surrounded by gardens on both sides, each as majestic and beautiful as the other. Housing the most beautiful flowers you have ever seen. It confirms to you that this is where your rose came from.
You come to a stop in front of the main doors, and take a deep breath, before you reach out to them. But before you can touch them, they open on their own. It leaves you spell bound, and hesitate to enter. But you tell yourself that Father is counting on you, and go in.
"H-hello?" you ask, "Is anyone there?"
"Come in, my child. I've been expecting you." a deep and frightening voice says, almost sounding like an animal rather than a human.
Your whole body shivers at the sound of his voice, but you muster up what courage you can and continue down a lit hallway. Finally, you come to a dinning hall, and a feast fit for a king awaits you. A massive fireplace illuminates the room, and standing before it, shrouded in darkness, is a massive figure. Easily seven feet tall, he's the largest person you've ever met. You can't make out much of him, but you can tell he's dressed finely, and stands with the poise of nobility.
"Sit, my dear." he says, and the chair pulls out for you on its own.
