B&HB: Go to the front gate

Your freedom is staring you in the face, and you rush up to the front gate. Unfortunately, no matter how hard you tug at the gate, it refuses to budge. You take a few steps back, and look up at it, seeing if you can climb over it.
"Stop." the beast calmly says as he quietly approaches.
You gasp, and quickly turn around to see him well dressed again, and with a flower pot in his hand.
"It's pointless to try and escape." he tells you, "Believe me, I've tried. It'll only bring you pain."
"And if I don't believe you?" you ask, remaining on the defensive.
"You can try if you want. But the pain you experienced last night was nothing to what awaits you if you attempt an escape."
