You close your hands around the red crystal and concentrate, ignoring the oncoming mermaids. There's a flash of red light, and you're someplace else.

You're standing in a large, square room carved out of black rock. The room is hot enough that your wet clothes emit a bit of steam as they rapidly dry. The room isn't entirely black. A red cloth banner with gold trim runs around the room, filling the middle third of the wall. A circular pit of bubbling water is set in the floor next to you. More strikingly, there's a black bed against one wall, and a red-skinned woman in a tight-fitting black dress is reclining on it. She sits up and stares at you.

"How did you get in here?" she asks. "My guards have strict orders to keep everyone out! And what's that shining in your hand?"
