In your last attempt at defense, you feebly roll to the side. The thing's sharp claw slashes at the air where your neck was half a second ago and almost misses you.
Almost.
The top of its claw glances off the side of your neck and creates a surprisingly deep cut.
However your brain has had enough and with a final cry of pain, you sink deep into unconsciousness. You are now easy prey for the thing and it greedily dives for your throat, tearing and ripping it to shreds.
