“Bangor, I guess.”

From Create Your Own Story

“I thought you hated all of that heavy lifting Ken put you through?”

He did have a point, why do you want to go act as deliverymen with Ken exactly? Your feet still hurt from last time. You wore a smile on your face whenever he looked over his shoulder to check on you, but the second he turned away to take the lead you’d immediately cry. This wasn’t “an enjoyable experience”, this was torture, abuse! It was like weights were crushing your very being with each step taken! Miles covered, the chance of a knife to the back always at high.

Ken’s fat jokes didn’t help.

“Well, I mean, do you have anything else to do?”

“Xi’s just around the-”

“If he wants alone time he wants alone time!” You knew Xi better than his own blood, if Xi didn’t want to show up then he had his reasons. “Anyway, Ken is probably the only one who could probably fight off those bandits. Might as well tag along.”

“Why do I feel like you’re selling us short.”

“Better me than him.”

Without even giving him a second look you start walk down the pathway.

“Hey! Wait up!” you hear him chase after you.

Spiral Hill, a relic of the past. You didn’t look back at it, as you hadn’t for years. It was a new day, a new start, and you knew that looking to the past wouldn’t change anything. What was done was done, your mistakes, your troubles, none of that mattered. It was time to move on. But you couldn’t help but feel a little sting in your chest as you put one foot in front of the other, putting it behind.

Maybe one day you’d come back, just to bring closure to this place.

That, however, is for another day.

Time to head off to Bangor!
