'The Blood of Vampyre', Bishop Joseph Cask

From Create Your Own Story

You stop on the black leather binding of 'The Blood of Vampyre' by Bishop Joseph Cask, inlaid in fine gold lettering. Cask's story is well known to all monster fighters, his book is required reading for any who seek to kill the undead as a first hand account of some of the greatest kills in history. A man of God who preached peace to his village he was forced to look into the face of pure evil when a vampire clan on the run from hunters happened on their town and slaughtered everyone but the lone holy man. Surrounded by carnage left by the forces of darkness, he put aside his peaceful ways and joined the pursuing hunters and getting a taste for vengeance, pursued a permanent path of holy violence. While never reaching the same notoriety that your father reached by killing Count Dracula, Abraham always contested that Cask was the greatest vampyre slayer that ever lived.

You curl up on the chair and begin to read...

"Let this warn fair maiden and silk skinned lass that pages through this tome that temptation is not a bed of roses but the edge of steel. Satan waits for all men and women alike to stray from the path but a second to claim their souls and engage them into eternal slavery in the fiery pits, the chain and whip for all time. Sister Rosalina of the Order of Chaste Redemption did not heed the Lord's word and learned too late of this. A mysterious stranger from the mountained East, with his face like Gabriel himself and smooth words delivered by a serpents tongue. He wooed this woman of Christ the Savior with his tactile flesh, his powers of agonizing pleasure so subjected onto so inexperienced a girl such as the young Sister that her mind was drowned in him. He overpowered her in mind and body and she followed willingly. But what price when the Mother of the convent came the next morning to her chamber and found Rosalina strung from her intestines to the ceiling, her blood dripping down onto the face and body of her seducer. She paid the price in this world and she pays it in the next in the molten harem of the Dark Prince as so is deserved to those who betray their Lord Creator. I warn you daughter and child of God, do not make the same mistake as she."

You close the book softly, letting the words of the long dead Bishop sink in. You've seen what vampires can do and you know their wiles, but it never ceases to amaze you what evil the creatures can bring about in this mortal plane. You shiver slightly and wonder if this was the best thing to read before bed...
