"Wake up Izo! Four hours of recovery is enough!
From Create Your Own Story
Guy's voice was like a general barking at fresh recruits. So this is how it's going to be you thought to yourself as you tried to force your eyes open. You had to really try as your eyes felt like lead weights but slowly an image of Guy standing with a broad smile on his face came into your view. "Very good Izo! But I hope you know that your fight earlier was the easiest part of your training! We have one year so everything we do is going to be increased tenfold! Strap these weights to your shins and wrists! That should be enough to start with." Your muscles already felt heavy and perhaps it was a bad idea to be sitting when you attached the weights for as soon as the pile of small weights were on you felt heavier than a boulder. Not even your already immensely trained physique could prepare you for it, yet as you got to your feet after some ten painstaking minutes you saw the smile on Guy's face beam even brighter. "You have surprised me again Izo! That weight was meant to keep you on the ground for a month! Alright then put another two on each area then we'll start with some jogging!" So once again you dropped o the ground but by taking a knee so you might be able to get up without too much more trouble.
When you had finished you saw Guy jogging on the spot, knees coming up to his chest and his fists tucked into his armpits, or as high up as he could have them. He gave you another smile and turned to lead the way, you tried to mirror Guy's technique but due to your fatigue and the weights you were struggling to pick your feet off the ground and your fists above your waist. That's all Guy let you do for a month, continuous jogging only stopping to eat and sleep, when you did wash Guy told you not to take the weights off. 'Never take them off unless it's life or death!' Were his exact words. You knew the reasoning, Guy wanted you to be better than before with the weights so if you ever got in true trouble you had an ace up your sleeve. "You know you are actually my first student! If this works with you I shall use the same techniques if I take another personal student rather than my squad next year! Next up I'm going to show you some moves! Mirror them as best you can, when you do it perfectly we will advance to the next step!" The boom of Guy's voice was becoming more and more normal. As he was the only person you were talking to or had talked to for a month, when you ate Guy left you to continue training while he gathered the food. You ate, slept and washed outside of the village. High kicks were the very first move Guy tasked you with, one leg then the other but it wasn't just reaching the height while fighting against the weight but doing so in a sharp and precise way that could cut a rain drop in half. That took another three weeks then another week to travel to a mountainous area where a river looked out of place yet it was there, sharp peaks topped the nearby mountains and Guy made you run up a different one each day before doing any 'real' training. When your body had adapted and improved so you were faster than before, stronger too, with the weights on, Guy started to show you the Eight Inner Gates. This you progressed rapidly on, despite the risks. In fact you used the first three gates so often and easily that you had no side effects or fatigue from using it after two more months. This continued and Guy taught you all of his Taijutsu techniques until you were almost his equal on your last day of training when you returned to the village.
