Tell Fred you are just really horned up

Fred is clearly disappointed and leans back. "Oh." is all he says.
You find this turn of events to be rather odd and you feel bad, but you can't really tell why. You attempt to make conversation, but Fred is sullen and you think that you've really hurt his feelings. "Is Fred gay," you wonder, "and does he have a crush on me?". You don't think that you'll get an answer from him now, so you just try to stay cool and watch the game.
When the laundry is done you gather your things and ask him which bar he wants to go to tonight. He sighs and says, "Whatever."
It looks like he's pretty forlorn and it's up to you to choose where you are going for drinks.
