You indicate for him to follow you to your office and he does so, you sit behind your desk and offer him a seat.
"I have a lot to do today Max so you better make this quick."
"Ms Williams, I'm sorry to disturb you but I see you're looking for a new P.A, it's just that money is a little tight at the moment and I was wondering if you would consider my wife for the role?"
"Now Max you know we have a very rigorous employment system, I can't just decide to employ who I like."
"Yes Ms Williams I know, it’s just I'm a runner and don't make all that much, you should understand you were in this position not too long back, and we're trying so hard to save for a house."
You barely contain your laughter he's right about the position you once held but there the similarities end, he's a straight white male, technically he can't be oppressed, from a rich background, and the only reason he's not sharing an office with the senior partners above you, is because his daddy forgot to mention a few billion dollars’ worth of earnings to the IRS.
"I'm sorry Max but the best I can do is tag her on to the interview list, but she will have to be competent at the work and you know what odd hours I work I expect my P.A to work them as well, whether it's here or at my home office."
"That's fine Ms Williams. Thank you."
"If she disappoints me Max you realize it may make your position here untenable."
"She won't disappoint Ms Williams."
