You stay hidden, and the chopper eventually resumes chasing your allies. Within mere moments, Rehman, Omar, and all the rest are killed. You eventually make it back to your family, forever haunted by what happened today. The Soviets withdraw in a few months, and you spend the rest of your life wondering if what you did was the right thing.
A few months after the war ends, you suffer a depressive episode, and take your own life. You will be with your allies on the other side, at least.
