From Create Your Own Story

YOU: My parents were in the military, so I spent my life traveling from place to place in ships, never settling down for too long. It was a hard life, changing scenery all the time, but I idolized my mum and dad. When I got old enough, I enlisted right into the military like them. I assume I have some family still alive, but have yet to actually get the chance to see any of them in the game.

JACOB: uh... No. Wrong answer.

YOU: ... I think I know my own childhood, dude.

JACOB: The file knows better. According to this, you spent your first years growing up as an orphan on an unspecified grimy, overcrowded metropolis on Dystopian Future Earth. Times were tough. You had to make your living as a lovable street urchin, making witty remarks in an English accent and picking pockets in a battered top hat. Then you got to old for the Urchin thing, had to go into business as a lovable rogue- then the bottom dropped out of that market and you joined the Alliance Military.

YOU: So, wait, I don't actually get to choose, here? I thought this was where I actually set the decisions.

JACOB: Nup. If you don't have a save from the first game, we just pick some default decisions.

MIRANDA (Leaning over to look at your file): Forget the childhood, then. What about the Major Event that happened once you were in the military?
