"I don't think so... I saw someone sitting on the stairs outside," you say.
She slumps down into the chair, her whole body shaking as she hugs her arms against her chest.
"Then he'll be coming in here... to find you. He'll be coming after you and you'll lead him right to me!" she says, her voice full of panic.
"Shh! I think I hear something... " you tell her, which makes her shut up and look up toward the doorway. Sure enough, you can hear something: heavy footsteps coming down the stairwell, he must have followed you inside just like the girl mentioned.
You flick off the light and step up against the wall next to the doorway as the girl ducks down behind the desk. You hear him reach the bottom of the stairs, then start moving further away.
You take a peek around the corner and see him going toward the door on the right side of the hallway first. He has the gun that the girl mentioned out, and at the ready.
You know you're going to have to fight your way out of here, you just need to decide when the best time to attack him is...
