"Don't worry, you're safe. He is gone," you say, and she slumps down into the chair with a heavy sigh.
"Thank god... " she whispers, putting her head in her hands.
She barely has any time to enjoy this 'safety' you've provided as both of you are alerted to the sound of heavy footsteps coming down the stairs just outside the room. Crap. He must have followed you inside! The girl looks at you, horrified.
You reach over and flick off the light, stepping to the side of the doorway as the girl ducks down behind the desk. You hear him reach the bottom of the stairs, then hear his footsteps moving away from you.
You take a peek around the corner and can see he has the gun that the girl mentioned out, and at the ready. He is heading toward the door on the right side of the hallway giving you a few moments to decide what to do.
