"Sorry kid!" you say as you take off running down the street. You run down a few blocks, run around a few corners, and put a fair amount of distance between yourself and the pizzeria before you finally stop and catch your breath.
You hear a rumble in the distance, followed by what sounds like an explosion coming from the direction of Y-NOT Pizza. Whatever the cause, at least you got out of there in time!
You turn and start to move down the street when your left foot suddenly sinks into the ground. At first it seems like you've stepped in a hole or something but upon further inspection you realize your foot has just sunk through, and is now stuck in, the concrete. You tug and pull on it to try and get it free and that only serves to make your right foot sink in too!
Before you can really attempt anything to free yourself you feel something grab your feet, and yank down. You are pulled straight down through the concrete as if it wasn't even there.
You wind up in a black abyss, the only thing you're able to see is your own body and darkness all around you.
"Hello!?" you call, not sure where you are.
"You didn't fulfill your end of the contract," you hear a voice say, the same one from about an hour ago that you heard in that little room.
"Yeah, so what?" you ask, not having really wanted to save anyone.
"So now you're mine, and I am collecting you. We will spend the rest of eternity together with you taking on the role of my servant," the voice responds.
"Eternity? The deal was only until I paid off my debt. Then we're done," you insist.
A cruel, haunting laughter fills the abyss which rattles you to your core.
"You should have read the fine print. After our debt is paid, the contract stated that I may continue to use your services until I no longer desire them. I simply can't dismiss you until your debt is paid."
"There was no fine print!" you shout at the darkness, and the voice.
The only response you receive is more laughter. You realize now just what a mistake signing that contract was.
Game Over: You belong to the Phantom now, and forever.
