You meet you sister and beg her for help And council. Unlike my brother wilhem, isabel is calm and wise. Most importantly i think shes extremely inteligent unlike my brash brother who is all muscle no brains. I have always tried to emulate her wise decisions and have a connection with her as i was practically raised by isabel and mother acting like parents.
Hearing my plea shes quick to know what i can do for her help. After all shes 3rd in line and as far i know the most deserving.
Being a kid i have little possesions. i can only promise that if i become the count i will make her a lord in the council of lords who manage the county for the count.
She also makes me promise to marry her matrilinearly so she keeps her freedom and estate and position. Normal marriages give women no rights or power. Matrilinear marriages give women all power and husbands are just puppets.
Such marriages are for duches and queens who are monarchs despite being women.
But i agree nonetheless.
She says though mother might be sympathtic, wilhem will make sure i am leashed. Isabel proposes a female Lady in waiting of hers, katelyn. Shes the daughter of most powerfull lord of warburg and his heir apparent. Appart from intellect shes a tom boy and a tough soldier who can help me martially.
I protest shes too ladylike to be tomboyish but isabel assures me katelyn is too clever to be found out by normal observers.
She also advises me that she would be the perfect choice as bride for me in future as that will guarantee money and support through her father.
And then it hit me, never to cross isabel in the future.
