You bid the sailor thanks and try to find way back to the road to Murmansk. There are few options left for you to take. The soldiers don't look friendly and they might seize you if they find out you are an American.
You travel for some while and wait in an inn in Polyarny for transport back to Murmansk. While waiting, a person catches your eye. He is dressed in a long coat, and is well-masked man. He blends in all right with the rest of them, but is looking at things esp. the ships at sea. And he is writing down notes. One thing is strange about him: he wears a badge that has a bird on it, maybe a cardinal but you are not sure. Not very common for a Russian. Maybe you should approach him?
