Go easy so he would win.
From Create Your Own Story
With his level of playing skill, losing to him wasn't difficult. Although you kept it close til the end, you're not even certain that you could have won if you had given it your all.
"Looks like I lost." You lean back against the pool table and brushed your hair aside. "So, what are we having?"
"You'll see." He grinned at you knowingly before vanishing into the kitchen. You hear the fridge open and close, then he calls out to you from the kitchen. "You can relax for a bit while I get the grill fired up. Make yourself comfortable."
Impress with his apparent culinary fortitude, you took his counsel and plopped yourself down on his comfy leather living room couch. Stretching yourself out with a relaxed sigh, you reach over and picked up what appears to be a guestbook.
Curiously flipping through the pages, you come across a few names of what seems to be foreign business clients who have enjoyed Corbin's hospitality. But most names appear to be women with whom he's had a one-night stand. You begin to feel a bit dejected and jealous to be reminded that you are probably not the first girl to have such an amazing time with what seems to be such a wonderful guy. Did you make a mistake in coming to his place?
"Dinner's ready." He pops his head into the living room holding two plates of juicy grilled steak, wearing a chef's apron and grinning with confidence.
"Wow. Looks good." You try your best to sound impressed, which you are. But your tone came out as unenthusiastic and dry.
"Everything ok?"
"Oh, umm....it's nothing." You tried to sound cheerful and remind yourself what a good time you're having now. "Let's eat!"
"You know, that book is for my short-term guests and one-night flings." Seeming to have detected your mood, he hands you the plate of steak with a knowing grin. "Which means there's no room for your signature."
"Hmm?!" Slightly surprised by that comment and not quite grasping his meaning, you stared up at him with your wide, bright eyes while chewing on a piece of juicy meat.
"What I really meant was..." He leaned in with that familiar intensity in his fierce eyes, but in a gentle and soothing way. "I would like for you to stay here with me, if you'd be willing to."
You gulp down your steak hard and stare at him again in startled silence. Finally you begin to realize his intention and start to chuckle timidly. "Well... I umm... what about your other lovers? I mean, I'll just be another one of them right?"
"No, you won't." You stared intently into your eye with a soft and gentle voice, you can see a hint of solitude in his gaze. "They came and left because they were drawn by my money and power. But you, you don't really even know about that, do you?"
"Well...come to think of it..." You tilted your head and pondered. "How DID you become so wealthy, Corbin?"
With a slight, grim smile, he hands you a business card. It reads: Corbin Reynold, CEO, Arnold and Reynold Corporation.
With a gasp, you looked up at him with widened eyes. "Wait, you...?"
"That's right." He nodded. "My full name is Corbin Reynold, the co-owner of the company you applied to work for."
"That's incredible." You murmured in awe, before shifting your eyes back to him. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I wanted to make sure you didn't agree to date me for money and power." He took a casual bite of his steak. "I wanted to be with a woman who has no superficial motives, like yourself."
You looked down and gripped your knees with a bashful smile. "So you mean...you want me to be your girlfriend?"
"Yes, please." He smiled at you. "Will you consider it?"
