As every single guide to every upper house every tells everyone, "Committees are the bread and butter of Senate (or whatever they called it) work." That's great and all, but unfortunately you got the most boring committee in existance. Elderly Affairs. The work is done by the lower house, or by community groups, meaning that all you do is sit around in the committee room, drink water and talk about whatever you feel like discussing. And often, fuck. The committees are closed to public viewing, meaning that all you need to do to look like you're all working hard is ensure that you make up some minutes after the meeting. Today...
