You gesture for the maid to come sit on the bed, then you whisper in her ear.
"On my count, we both look under the bed from opposite directions! If I'm right, the monster will have nowhere to hide!"
"But..." the maid starts, but a stern glare from you silences her.
"One... two... three!" you say, and then you both scramble to look under your respective side of the bed.
"AIGHH!" the maid screams. "Oh, what a scare... My lady was right... there is somebody there!"
You're slightly annoyed you didn't see anything. "What is it? How does it look?"
The maid shrinks back from your questions. "I... I didn't get a good look... it's too fast, and it disappeared too quickly..."
You:
- Tell the maid to crawl underneath the bed
- Tell the maid to go alert the chamberlain
- Come up with yet another cunning plan
