You can't take two men on, that's suicide. You step back into the door way, your heart racing. Jessie is a good person, and an even better friend, but your primal need to survive is basically screaming at you to run. You try to convince yourself she would be fine, but you know that is a laughable lie. If you don't intervene, she could die. But if you do, you could die. It's not worth it, the voice in your head tells you, she isn't worth dying for. You begin to turn and start to walk away, scanning your surroundings for any threats, when you her her cry out in pain from inside. You pause, your mind torn between two options. You turn back to the door, where inside an innocent woman was being hurt, and would soon be killed. You would lose another friend this night.
