BAJ/Tells you she needs money

With a look of desperation, she says, "I need the money, and this was the best option I had."
'This could get interesting,' you think to yourself. You say, "If you need the money, why not just ask me?" You know your aunt is proud and would never ask for anything.
She has a flash of anger in her eyes, which you doubt the sincerity, and says, "I am no one's charity case. I would not have my nephew give me money out of pity. I will earn every dollar I get."
'Let's just see how badly she wants to earn her money,' you think to yourself. "It wouldn't be charity. You are my aunt. It isn't right not to help you." You keep a false sense of concern in your voice and eyes.
Your aunt responds quickly by saying, "It would be charity, which I don't need. What I need is to earn the money."
With the same look of concern, you say, "Maybe there is a way to earn the money you need from me."
Your aunt looks at you with a mix of concern and hope in her eyes. She says, "If it is truly earning the money, than I would accept. But it can't be charity. It can't be paying more than I would otherwise earn, so no paying me a hundred dollars to wash the dishes, or anything like that."
"It won't," you say. "It will be a fair price. You will earn every dollar you get. How much do you need?" you ask with a look of sincerity in your eyes.
Your aunt does not respond right away. Then says, "I need a thousand dollars pretty quickly. There isn't much I can do to get that kind of money."
"Why do you need so much?" you ask.
She does not respond quickly, but eventually says, "I just do. Please, don't ask me why?" she begs.
You respond calmly by saying, "OK. I won't ask. It is your business, not mine."
