Attack it with a golden sword

You grab the nearby sword and thrust it upon the midget serpent. It's body shakes and it squeals, yelling all sorts of obscenities. It may not be dead, but it's not going to go anywhere trapped by the sword. You feel bad for the little guy, but all guilt washes off when you return swimming into the mounds of gold. But then you realize something, how in Hades are you going to get out of here?
