Thinking further, you realise that you have no memory at all... about your birth, your school, parents... nothing... not even your name. Then you remember that a few minutes back your mind was entirely blank. It just might be that you have amnesia. Which means she might be telling the truth.
Or you might be kidnapped and this is the effect of some drug they used on you or a psychic brainwash.
