As, there were 6 new entrants last week, we ought few more books to give to the kids. We also bought 2 new slates (larger ones) so that we can use them as boards when teaching.
[edit] When we went there
The students reached the office room before us and were waiting enthusiastically. Even the kids who were not so comfortable when they were asked to come last time we ready and waiting for us to arrive. We greeted each other formally as we entered. We then gave the notebooks and pencils to the ones who did not have any.

[edit] Telugu kids
Anirbit took over the teaching of the kids who were new for the last class by teaching them English Alphabets. he initially wrote the Alphabets on the slate and asked them to write in their copies and then made them read out loud the Alphabets. Before this, I asked all the kids who were new for the last class to write down the numbers that I taught them (1-10).few of them recited them for others in Telugu and English.
I asked the elder girls Rama, Kalyani and Santu Bhavani to write down the various forms (Gudinthaalu) of 'ka' and 'cha'. Those who were unable to write were taught the same. Santu Bhavani was also taught few simple words in Telugu . I gave her few more words as homework.
I asked Santosh to learn Telugu Alphabets (vowels) and consonants were given as homework. He also wrote numbers from 51 to 100.
I checked the homework of Narayana Rao and Sankara rao(they did almost all the questions correct). I gave them few more exercises on Multiplication and Addition. Then, they took Dictation in English words of which Sankara Rao had 3 mistakes but Narayana Rao had a considerable number of mistakes(he uses 'u' instead of 'e' at many places such as "nest", etc.). Later, I asked them to correct the mistakes. I gave Narayana Rao few medium level Telugu words and more multiplication and Addition for homework. Sankara Rao was given few English words and few problems on division for homework.
Satyanaraya learnt a few more of the forms (Gudinthaalu) of telugu alphabets.
Ganga Raju kept on practicing the first 4 vowels of Telugu and A and B of English and was given the same for homework. His hold on pencil has become better.

Bodhayan taught the two Bengali kids some of the Bengali script and one of the Bengali girl was also present for the session on English alphabets that Anirbit took.
[edit] Wrapping up
We ended by the distribution of Biscuits and Buttermilk provided by the people at CCCL. Kids wanted to listen to stories but as it was already getting late (it was almost 12:20), we promised them the stories next week. Then we greeted each other goodbye and parted our ways.
