Min Tae Yeon (born December 29, 1988) is a Korean actor. Min is one of the few actors in the industry who has already completed his mandatory two year army training before entering the entertainment. After he completed his service he entered university at twenty-one years of age and was scouted two years later by a talent manager on the streets.

Early life

Min was born on December 29, 1988 in the Gangnam district of Seoul, South Korea as the oldest of three to Min Tae-hyun, a financial advisor who works in the National Bank of Korea and Lee Hae-na, a magazine editor. His younger sister, Min Soo-yeon works at SM Entertainment as part of the creative designs department.

Upon graduating high school Min was accepted into Seoul National University with his top examination marks against the cohort. He began his undergraduate course in Economics but after two years switched to Fine Arts and Korean Literature, specialising in theatre and Korean folktales respectively. Min graduated with double degree Bachelors in 2013.
