Album Information
Rapper, lyricist and songwriter Tablo of the South Korean hip hop group Epik High played the role of a mentor as well as being a great inspiration to Andria during her training years and preparing for debut. While going through vocal sessions in Korea during early 2009, Andria attended a book signing session in Seoul to meet up with Tablo who at the time published his first book Pieces of You. Before the actual event, she composed a song in a mix tape and a letter to share her experience as a singer in training and whilst he was signing her copy of the book, she slided it to the rapper. Andria recalled the experience as time stopping, "He looked at me like I was crazy and for a few seconds I thought it had been years. In the end he smiled and said thankyou." Not expecting an reply but Tablo contacted two months later through email. He said that he was greatly impressed by the song and its' lyrics and would love to play the role as a mentor througout her training.
With this, Tablo personally trained her for as long as a year in different areas. Andria herself said that she loved every single story in the book Pieces of You and has an aim to transform each into a song. The first being is Strawberry Fields Forever. "Personally I can relate myself to this story the most. The lyrics [written by Andria] is very realistic and I hope someone out there will feel the same." The lyrics is based on the story and tells how we forget the things surronding us and stop appreciating the real values in life. It's described by the public was the 'wake up call' song.
Critical Reception
Public gave a highly positive rating on the average of 87% on Oricorn Music Survey, the highest ever of a debuting artist this year and at #3 of all times debuting artist. Aacki Sachyeo of Music Station commented it as one of the best self composing debut ever. "You would never expect such works by a only debuting artist at fifteen [years of age]. This certainly raises expectations for her debut album and she will have high standards to fill up to but certainly someone very promising."
Many praised her unique tone and greatly accompanied by the low key voices of male solo artist Jan Di.
