Osamu Mukai is a Japanese actor that has reached the peak of his career in 2010 winning multiple awards across different areas. Mukai's first main role was in the 2006 Japanese television drama Nodame Cantabile. He played the cellist Kikuchi Toru and subsequently became known for his trademark smile.

He has also had key roles in several other dramas, including the mysterious butler Shinobu in Mei-chan no Shitsuji and Sho Okura in Atashinchi no Danshi.
