Personality
Shinji's a comedian (or so he thinks). He loves to annoy Hiyori, which usually earns him a slap from one of her sandals (sometimes worse). He also has a history of referring to cute girls he meets as his 'first love', complete with a deadpan look on his face despite the obvious lie. He loves to tell stories, a man with a silver tongue. He also has a habit of taking in strays and often gives them odd names, he doesn't always keep them. He's also a bit secretive about his past and true intentions with anyone who doesn't already know him.
In-Game History
Born and raised Clairbourn resident, he grew up with Mashiro and Hiyori, in which the three of them were nearly inseparable. He was sad when Mashiro moved away but at least he had Hiyori around (to torment) and the two of them continued to hang out. As time passed Shinji's mother couldn't deal with him anymore and he was sent to live with his grandparents and had to move away from Clairbourn. That didn't last long and he returned to his home, getting his own apartment in the process.
Mashiro returned as well, an event that Shinji was overjoyed with. But eventually he got himself into some trouble and was sent off to juvi. When he got out Mashiro was now living with him and Hiyori. Sadly, he got himself into trouble again and ended up back in juvi.
Shinji returned once again from juvi, it was too late in the year for him to make up for the lost time so he had no other choice but to repeat his senior year. He learned that Mashiro was pregnant with Ikkaku's kid and had a little talk with the man when he came to take care of a sick Mashiro. He decided Ikkaku was good enough to be considered family and gave him his blessing. Not long after he also discovered the reason for Hiyori being so quiet, the reason's of which he didn't like at all (Kittan had kissed Hiyori and confessed his feelings). Things didn't sit well with Shinji for a little while and he mopped around in a pathetic state until he had a talk with the petite girl. The results of which lead to their first kiss.
Thing's between Hiyori and himself escalated and it became an unsaid agreement that they were 'together' (though this was just between the two of them).
Despite not attending classes he was still enrolled at Clairbourn High so he was able to take Hiyori to the prom. Afterwards things went just as planned for him and he became Hiyori's first.
So far the only person that knows for a fact that Shinji and Hiyori are 'together' is Nina (who blatantly blurt out the question "So, you hit that yet or what?" when they were having afternoon tea and lunch). Shinji's reaction was answer enough so he couldn't very well lie to her. IfHiyorieverfindsouthe'sprobablyadeadman. Upon arriving home the same day he was greeted by a kick to the face from Hiyori, who had turned on Shinji's monitor to find his porn still up on the screen. Of course things got worked out as they always did.
Relationships At a Glance
Hiyori Sarugaki: Childhood friend and a true love/hate relationship. Truth is they wouldn't know what to do without eachother. He loves the girl but had yet to admit it out loud.
Mashiro Kuna: Childhood friend, like a sister to him that he will do anything to protect. Sometimes he wishes she were a little tougher and not so childish.
Nina Wisemail: The two constantly butt heads, teasing and taunting each other for the hell of it.
