The Paradox Theory
There is speculation that towards the end of the world, a time paradox will be created that will allow the Emissaries of Danger to learn the secrets of Time Deception and recreate the Time Collapse in order to aid their previous selves from beyond the future, sending Missiles at appropriate times and thereby creating the aformentioned paradox, by creating something in the future, sending it back to the past in order to reach a point in the future where this can take place, ultimately resulting in an infite loop of the Chronicles until someone can stop the Emissaries from reaching the future.
The Higher Power Theory
Another rumour is however that there is still simply a being more powerful than Asgard and McDuell, that was around before such beings and thereby created McDuell. It is possible that this Higher Power is guiding the fates of the characters in concordance with his plan, as they have strayed from the path he has created for them.
The Truth
The Agency
The Agency is a network of clones trained in highly advanced forms of Time Deception that allow time travel. Similarly to the Paradox Theory, they cause small Time Collapses that allow threads of time to be re-written and therefore change the thread of the future. This is obviously risky, as sending agents back can cause events to occur resulting in the agency never forming in the new thread of reality created, this is the reason why only the most highly trained agents are permitted to return to the past.
The agents control the threads of time and thereby rule all of time. However, with Roland Jameson's return, his powers in Time Deception allow him to prevent the returning of agents, and therefore is immune to any changes in the future that agents may make. This is why such a threat is posed by Jameson as he draws ever closer to the Mythical Objects.
