Previous Earth History: Back on Earth, he was quite the playboy. Fast cars, hot women, private jet, hunting, that sort of thing. He was rich because of old money.
History: Upon arriving at the station, he got quite a shock when he realised he'd have to work- he'd never worked a day in his life. He volunteered for the job of guard because he enjoys using firearms and thought it was the best job available that he'd be able to do- steady rates of pay and easy work. (Or so he thought). In the first few weeks, he slacked quite a bit. This attitude changed rapidly and dramatically when he realised he'd have to decide between air and food one week. After that, he tried his best to be the model guard- alert, vigilant, loyal, ETC. However, he's been hearing and seeing things recently that are making him doubt the system. He's not yet a member of the resistance, but would be willing to help them (EG by 'losing' evidence of their plots and creating false ones). It would probably take only a little to convince him to join the resistance more actively.
